Uso de vídeos como objetos de aprendizagem no curso de Licenciatura em Computação da UFJF: um relato de experiência

O curso de Licenciatura em Computação da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora é ofertado na modalidade à distância, em consonância com as diretrizes do projeto CAPES/UAB. Nesses dez anos de curso, lecionei diversas disciplinas e apresento aqui o relato da minha experiência enquanto docente, com foco principal nas dinâmicas que envolvem objetos de aprendizagem e vídeos educacionais, chamados de videoaulas. Como destaque desse relato está a diversidade na forma de planejar, produzir, editar e disponibilizar esse tipo de material didático, assim como o feedback dos discentes em relação a esse tipo de mídia. Também são apresentados os aspectos de organização e avaliação das turmas lecionadas

Framework for Knowledge Discovery in Educational Video Repositories

The ease of creating digital content coupled with technological advancements allows institutions and organizations to further embrace distance learning. Teaching materials also receive attention, because it is difficult for the student to obtain adequate didactic material, being necessary a high effort and knowledge about the material and the repository. This work presents a framework that enables the automatic metadata generation for materials available in educational video repositories. Each module of the framework works autonomously and can be used in isolation, complemented by another technique or replaced by a more appropriate approach to the field of use, such as repositories with other types of media or other content

Comparison of single and three-phase permanent magnet motor drives

International audienceThis article presents a comparison between two PM synchronous electrical motors of 0?5kW, a single phase machine and a three-phase machine designed for automotive applications. The single-phase structure developed by our laboratory displays the particularity of being completely symmetric: no mechanical or electromagnetic asymmetry. This machine starts with the maximum electromagnetic instantaneous torque and thus the corresponding current at the moment of start-up is very low. Both single and three-phase motor drives are designed with the same specifications. The calculation and optimization of electromagnetic parts are obtained thanks to the use of a corrected 2D finite element code in order to take into account the strongly three-dimensionnal aspect of these machines. The experimental results and projection made using a 3D finite element code will serve to validate our method, which includes saturation problems. A simulation of electrical equations is also developed and validated for each kind of motor inverter structure presented

Single-nucleus resolution mapping of the adult C. elegans and its application to elucidate inter- and trans-generational response to alcohol

Summary: Single-cell transcriptomic platforms provide an opportunity to map an organism’s response to environmental cues with high resolution. Here, we applied single-nucleus RNA sequencing (snRNA-seq) to establish the tissue and cell type-resolved transcriptome of the adult C. elegans and characterize the inter- and trans-generational transcriptional impact of ethanol. We profiled the transcriptome of 41,749 nuclei resolving into 31 clusters, representing a diverse array of adult cell types including syncytial tissues. Following exposure to human-relevant doses of alcohol, several germline, striated muscle, and neuronal clusters were identified as being the most transcriptionally impacted at the F1 and F3 generations. The effect on germline clusters was confirmed by phenotypic enrichment analysis as well as by functional validation, which revealed a remarkable inter- and trans-generational increase in germline apoptosis, aneuploidy, and embryonic lethality.
